In Three People Who the World Almost Missed, students read about Henrietta Lacks, Alice Ball, and Rosalind Franklin while exploring questions about scientific discovery, fairness, consent, credit, and who gets remembered in history.

This packet is designed to be flexible, so you can use it whenever it works best for your class.

Need a complete lesson for one of those awkward days between units? Use the one-day Centers option. Students rotate through the three biographies, gather information in a graphic organizer, and finish by comparing the women’s experiences and thinking about justice and recognition in science.
