Linguists believe that we are living in a time of massive language extinction. A language may be disappearing every two weeks, and many of these belong to indigenous populations. In this 13 day unit, students will explore the way three young indigenous rappers are trying to save their native languages. Students will learn more about the artists through their social media, their music, and interviews with each artist. In addition, they will learn how valuable it is to take pride in your heritage and share it with those around you.
