Instead, they provide additional support before students begin each unit so they can enter the readings, discussions, and activities with greater confidence. We also released the Teacher Guide and Audio Book for three books! impACTO and impACTE and L’esprit de Mélusine. The guides for these readers are designed as a lesson plan, so it takes the guess work out of how to teach a reader-based unit! In Spanish, we have a new reading about the dark side of Airbnb. They’re great for vacation getaways, but they are causing housing problems across the globe and making housing inaccessible to residents in many communities. This is one of our “Huellas Freeform” units. It is designed to be taught either in person or assigned as a sub/asynchronous assignment. Perfect for distance learning days, quick sick day plans that last 3 days, and of course to work with together face to face in class.

We launched another Empreintes unit (and have TWO more launching by September). This one is about sustainable palm oil and is built around a commercial from Greenpeace. We launched a freebie about the amazing YouTuber Rob Kenney who, during the pandemic shut down, became a dad to millions of kids who didn’t have one via his online tutorial video series. It is called Dad, How Do I? and is available in Spanish and in French on both TPT and Somewhere to Share.
