¡No somos amigos!

I had a surprise in my mailbox yesterday! A new book for my FVR/SSR library called No somos amigos. It is a prequel to the Diego y sus amigos video on senorwooly.com, but it is not necessary to have seen the video to enjoy the story.

Two notable things: I received a free copy of this book to review for you. Also, I helped write the story, so I may be biased about how amazing it is… but I don’t think so. I think it’s pretty great. JAJA

(Check out those scribbles in my planbook in the background. Very representative of every day of my life) In this book, Diego and Tomás are lost at sea. They both are searching for the “thing” they need to be able to navegate their way home, but they disagree on what that thing is.

With just 34 unique words, even your beginners can read it… and the length makes it perfect for kids who need a little extra motivation to read. They can finish it in one 6-7 minute reading session! I need to order the 5 pack because it’s the hottest item in the library today!

Do you already to SSR with your classes? Whether you answered yes or no, check out this CI Diaries podcast (it’s also available on Apple and Spotify Podcasts) for how Kristy and I handle SSR in our classrooms.

Grab your copy of No somos amigos here. It was a limited printing so they may sell out fast!

Let me know what you think of the story!
