Bethanie Drew
Contributing Author
Bethanie Drew is a second generation career educator who graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a BS specializing in sports medicine and Spanish–never really expecting to use the Spanish part of that degree. After a stint in college athletics she realized that her passion was working with teenagers, so she started a career as a high school Spanish teacher and has never looked back. In addition to teaching, she is professionally active as a learner, blogger, presenter, and curriculum creator. She is a frequent presenter at world language conferences at the state, regional, and national levels and has received “Top 10” and “Best of…” accolades for her work there. She is a renewed National Board Certified Teacher and in 2020 was awarded the Jenrette Award for Teaching Excellence & Leadership by her school community. She was named the K12 North Carolina World Languages Teacher of the Year in 2022. When not at school she loves to volunteer and go on amazing adventures with friends, family, and her best pup, Addy.
