We started Book Club on Monday. If your class is participating, we’d love to hear how it is going!!
Monday went really well! They loved the Decisiones game that followed the Tenochtitlán slideshow. We only made it through 4 of the questions!
On Tuesday, we read El ajolote y yo and followed up with Quiz Quiz Trade. When I got to school, I realized that our Quiz Quiz Trade activity called for enough copies of the cards for each student to have one and I had only made one copy of the cards! I had 15 minutes before school started and I was able to get my mistake corrected!! The kids did a great job with both the slideshow and the follow up.
We did not get any pictures during Quiz Quiz Trade because I had to participate! We had an odd number of students in the class. I did get a couple from our wrap up!
Wednesday, we tackled Quite the Character and Este o ese. Both went well and the kids are starting to get really excited about the story! It’s nice to build some suspense and excitement as we prepare to read next week!
On Thursday, we watch the show El Internado Laguna Negra. They eat it up, so I keep showing it! I love it too.
Today, we wrapped up the pre-reading activities with our vocabulary introduction! I am going to update the plans to share a Quizlet set because it did NOT take me as long as I thought to clear the activities. I did have some printed coloring sheets on hand, but what I really wanted was to get more work in with the new words!
Overall, I think it was a great first week and I can’t wait to start the book next week! Tell me about your first week of book club! Are you having fun? What have been your favorite activities so far?
