Conference season gears back up from March-November, but if you want a low cost substitute while you’re trapped inside for the cold month of February, consider Somewhere to Share’s Bite Sized Professional Development sessions on February 21 and 28, 2026. Running from 9am -12pm CT, these 3 hour sessions will be held live on Zoom but will be recorded as well. If you can’t make it at the scheduled time, never fear! The folder you access when purchasing the sessions will also be the home of the Zoom link when the recording is uploaded! If you happen across this post after the dates, the sessions will already be in your folder waiting for you!
Session 1:

CYA: Cover Your Assessment. In this session, we will look at research, proficiency vs performance, and real world assessments that help your students move from using their language to talk about topics you’ve studied to new topics they’re just starting!
Session 2:

From FVR/SSR to whole class reading, we will make sure your tool belt is full of ideas for reading with students.
The workshops are $30 each or $50 for both. Find them at bit.ly/s2spd26! Sign up for our newsletter (reload this page if you missed the pop up) on this page to get updates about these sessions and to hear about new sessions later in the year!
If you’ve been wanting training for your department, this would be a great team builder to meet online on the weekend and bring information back to the classroom on Monday.
Hope to see you for Bite Sized PD!
