It is CHOCOLATE day today!

We are midway through the third quarter and it was time to start some new units. Spanish 2 is in Somos 2 unit 5 learning about noises in the night, Spanish 3 is diving into Huellas 1.8 Dame, dame chocolate, Spanish 4 is backtracking a little to catch a unit they missed last year, Huellas 1.9 Medicina o cura.

I didn’t have any pictures from today because I had a guest and didn’t think about grabbing my phone! Here is a pic from my last chocolate tasting group. In Huellas 1.8, we are learning about sustainable chocolate production. Students began with a “chocolate sampling.” I brought in 5 different kinds of chocolate and they looked at, tasted, and smelled them all as they filled out their sampling sheet.

In Spanish 4, (recycling older pics again because I wasn’t on the ball today) we started Medicina o cura, Huellas 1.9, with the Humpty Dumpty unit hook. Our poor little egg took a fall and my budding medical pros identified his injuries and began taking medical notes on his condition.

Spanish 2 did some preliminary vocab introduction before our class story tomorrow from Somos 2.5. I love the ruidos en la noche story so much. It is one of my favorite things to teach!

It can be SO HARD to get through the long winter months. I like saving these fun and favorite units for the hard days! Spring isn’t far off! We can make it!
