My intention was to do some reflective blogging this summer. I did not do it. In as much as possible while running a small side business, I disconnected from school completely! And… it was heaven. I feel so well rested and ready to start back next week! But also… I feel a little guilty that I haven’t reflected at all on last year. (Isn’t that how it goes???)
I know that several of my friends have already started back to school and some won’t start until after Labor Day. I go on the 14th for a work day and then students come the 15th. I am really excited to get back… I mean, I don’t want to go TODAY, but I will be happy when I do go next week. 🙂
This summer has been busy. My husband and I took a trip to celebrate our THIRTIETH wedding anniversary! I went to the Fluency Matters conference in Denver, CO! And I spent a ton of time at home with friends, family, and my (too many) dogs.
At Somewhere to Share, we have been working SO HARD trying to get three new units ready for the Empreintes French curriculum, a full set of thirty biography based listening assessments for Huellas 1 and 2, and a full overhaul of the Huellas documents done. School time has snuck up on us and we aren’t going to complete ALL of the projects, but Empreintes 1.1, 1.3, and 1.4 are all ready for proofing and formatting! All of the biography additions are done, but the formatting of the new Huellas documents has been taking us longer than anticipated. We hope to have Huellas 1 and 2 complete by the end of the school year! In the meantime, we are adding the Listening Assessment PDFs to all folders that have not been formatted so you can use this optional activity while you wait! Check out 1.1-1.3, 1.5, and 1.6 for the updated document look! 1.4, 1.7, and 1.8 are almost ready for your eyes too!
